My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet bonded pair Soup & Stew! They are ready to add affection and love to your life, along with excited welcome mat scratches when you get home.

Stew is the confident brother of the pair, unafraid to demand pets and eager to follow you around. He enjoys playing tag with his sister, Soup, chasing her about the house and wrestling. Occasionally he will cuddle with her, but don't tell anyone! Stew loves exploring every open door and cabinet but rest assured, he won't try to dash outside. He'll sleep near or on top of you when it's time to rest, and if you're hanging out on the couch, scoot over he's comin' in! Stew and Soup are a package deal and would thrive in a home with or without kids, as long as plenty of love and affection are available.

Soup is the shy sister of the pair, okay to wait until Stew has gotten his pets in before coming up and asking for pets. She loves playing with her brother and truly doesn't understand why he doesn't cuddle more - it's wonderful! Her favorite game is chasing beams of light around the house, and of course, chasing her brother. She doesn't mind being picked up and loved either. She's content to let Stew take the lead in the house, following him when he's exploring cabinets. Soup and Stew are a package deal and would thrive in a home with or without kids, as long as plenty of love and affection are available.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
