Hello! My name is Agnes and I am a very sweet, curious and playful cat looking for my forever home. I am very proud of my independent personality and even do my own "petting by rubbing on my humans' hands. Most of the time I enjoy lying next to my humans, or perhaps cuddling in a lap from time-to-time, and I always like to stay close, finding everything they do interesting. Sometimes it takes me a little while to warm up to new people, but when I do, I love spending time with them and following them around.

When I am not busy watching my humans or the world outside, I enjoy playing with my favorite smarty cat electric toy and mouse toys. My tall scratching post is perfect for meeting my scratching needs, but I may need a reminder periodically, especially after an in-depth play session. If you are looking for a playful, devoted kitty to join your home, I am perfect for you!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
