My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stubby and 52 of his family members were rescued from a home by Animal Control in mid-November. He is estimated to be around two years old and weighs 21 lbs. The possible breed mix is Corgi and Dachshund. Stubby is friendly in his kennel and loves getting out for some interaction with people. We'll update as we learn more, but we'd love for you to stop by the rescue center during open hours to meet him in person! To adopt this little guy, apply at ITVrescue.org.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $160 to $185. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
