My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shorty is an estimated two year old male. He weighs 17 lbs. Shorty came from a large scale hoarding case. We were told Dachshund, Corgi, and Chihuahua as some of the breed mixes; we CAN say he is 100% an adorable mutt! He had a friendly personality in his kennel and a tail that would not stop wagging. Shorty recently moved to a foster home with another puppy from the hoarding case. We look forward to updating with more info from the foster. All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
