My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but don't worry, I'm not here to slay anything but your heart! I'm a kitten with a zest for life and a love for play. My days are filled with chasing after toys, exploring my surroundings, and of course, taking long naps. I'm quite the social butterfly and I love meeting new friends. I'm always ready for a cuddle session and I promise to keep your lap warm. I might be small, but my heart is huge.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
