Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in adopting a fur baby in need of a loving family! Please complete the application on our website https://smithcountytnhumane.com/adopt and an adoption coordinator will be in touch with you to discuss your application and see if we have a good fit for you!

ADOPTION FEES:
SCH does not generally charge a set adoption fee. If there is a specified adoption fee it will be noted, otherwise the adoption fee is considered waived or sponsored. You are free to make a donation of your choosing should you feel led to help us continue to help more animals find their happy forever after. Our #1 Goal is finding the best home for the animals in our care regardless of the ability to pay an adoption fee. We do however have a thorough adoption process to ensure that the animal you are looking to adopt is the best fit for your home and family, and that you are the BEST fit for the dog or cat.

Recommended Donation Amounts:
Cat $50
Kitten $85
Dog $100
Puppy $150

More about this rescue

We are a small group of pet-loving individuals in Smith county, Tennessee. We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. We care for these babies on a daily basis at our kennels and actively search for forever homes for them. Smith county does not have a government animal control function nor does it have a county animal shelter. SCH always has a waiting list for cats & dogs and does take the stray and abandoned although we are not required by state law as well as owner-surrendered pets.
