Meet Boris, a sweet 14-year-old gentleman who’s looking for his second chance! This affectionate and gentle boy is looking for a quiet, loving space to settle into after a life full of change. While Boris can be a bit nervous at first, he’s incredibly loyal and loves nothing more than curling up with his favorite humans for some quality cuddle time once he feels safe and comfortable.
Boris was unfortunately declawed as a kitten, so he’ll need a calm, secure environment where he doesn’t have to worry about sharp claws or rough play. Being a senior cat, he does have some medical needs that will need to be discussed prior to adoption. But despite it all, he's still full of energy, and can be quite the playful kitty when the mood strikes!

Adopters can stop in during open hours to find their new pet! There may be different criteria based on the individual animal.

Our application is more of a survey in person. We find out more about your home and lifestyle to make sure the adoption will be fur-ever.

We will provide you with all the information on the pet and then set you up with a space to interact with your potential new best friend.

We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!
Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.
When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.
What you will need in order to adopt:
A valid photo ID with your current address.
We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.
Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.
Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
