Smokey is a gentle, affectionate cat who may take a moment to settle in, but once he does, he’ll be your best friend for life. With a warm and loving personality, Smokey is sure to quickly charm his way into your heart. He’s looking for a quiet home with teens or adults where he can be the only pet, so he can enjoy all the attention and affection he deserves.

Smokey is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that deter you! FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives when given proper care. Smokey will need regular vet check-ups to ensure he stays in good health, but with a bit of extra attention and love, he’ll make a wonderful companion.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.

When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.

If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
