Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Face of gray, heart of gold. I’m Nexus, an adorable older gal and I’m ready to spend my retirement with you. I came to High Country Humane because my owner had to go to assisted living and couldn’t care for me anymore. I should tell you a bit about myself! I have some past trauma so shelter staff want to help find me the perfect home, I would prefer the company of adults with a quiet lifestyle (I'd love it if you're home a lot).
I haven't always had the easiest life so men do make me nervous but I'm working on my fear. I have a few staff favorites who I've really opened up to, I'm a gal who needs a patient and loving owner, because I truly have so much love to give. My favorite way to ask for love is to come up and lick you, and I LOVE scratches! I love a good spa day, especially the naps and brushing! I'm not very treat or food motivated but I am potty trained and good on a leash. I do love a soft stuffy toy or bone to chew while hanging out at your feet. I've lived with dogs in the past and would like to meet any potential friends you may have for me. I would do best with another quiet and calm friend. It takes a little bit for me to warm up but I have so much personality waiting for you, naps and snuggles too! Come by High Country Humane to meet me please! My adoption fee is $25.
Adopting with High Country Humane means your new pet is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. We register that microchip (FREE!) and provide a free health exam with each adoption. Please bring a leash and collar for your new pet or plan to purchase a set at the shelter for $5 each. The shelter is open 11-5 PM, 7 days a week.
