KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Shakira Shakira was in the front of her kennel with wide semi hard eyes and retreated with a tucked tail when the handler opened the door. She had even harder eyes when the handler showed her the leash and tried to back away but allowed a sideways lasso before coming out.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally/moderately
HANDLING:
In the room, Shakira Shakira was a bit nervous and came into the room with scared eyes and pinned ears. She walked around with the handler and gave some low wags with a stretched out body when the handler went down to give her some pets. And got a high stiff tail when the handler was over her. She would tense up at times but tried to remain calm, walking away and showing her boundaries. She allowed some pets and allowed most handling but did not like her feet touched. She is tolerant but never solicited for pets. She sits for treats and takes them very gently.
PLAY:
Very nervous
TOYS:
Interest but no possession
Per staff on 11/14: Found in the stairwell of a shut down project building. Stairwell filled with trash and debris. Found by PHA workers and officers. ... When trying to fish her out of stairwell, she was growling and backing up, however did not lunge at me, got food from truck and was able to snag Dog with catch pole as she ate Dog food from floor. ... Had a heavy chain on neck connected to thick collar, approaching slowly dog finally let me pet her and remove collar and chain off of her neck.
