11/16/24 volunteer notes from adoption event: Goof is a snuggly angel who loves lap sitting. Sweet, curious, friendly. He was the star of the show at the TD event and solicited pets, treats, and play bows from other dogs. He is going to be adopted quickly and will thrive in a home with a backyard and someone who is okay with a dog that likes to stay close and underfoot due to his visual impairment.
11/13/24 volunteer notes: Goof and Snoop spend their time in the shelter curled up on a bed together. Goof was excited to meet humans and go outside when we approached the kennels but both dogs were very confused about being on a leash and had to be carried in and out of the kennels. Outside they were much more brave in the dog run, still uncertain at times. They are nothing but sweetness, but they are terrified in the shelter. They did much better once we were out of loud areas and outside they wanted to give kisses and cuddles. Very sweet puppies!

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.
In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs. Under contract ACCT Philly’s Animal Control Officers provide animal control services and code enforcement.
