My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Microchipped, DOB: Sept 20, 2023

Meet Anisa, a sweet and friendly retired mama, who has something to say about everything.

Anisa is a chatty Cathy and is fluent in trills, chirps, chirrups, and meows. When she finds herself alone or in a new environment, she will call out to her humans to come find her. She doesn't like to be alone for long, unless it's during nap time.... but she also loves snuggles during that time.

If you work long hours outside of the home or appreciate your privacy, she is probably not the cat for you. Anisa is insanely affectionate and needy. One might even call her a velcro kitty! She will bulldoze her way onto your lap and will rub her body against your legs when you try to walk away. She requires loads of stimulation and playtime with her humans.

Anisa can become agitated when bored and will most likely keep the household up at night if you don't tire her out before bed. She's also incredibly smart and is obsessed with playing fetch with her favorite spring toys. Yes, that is correct, she plays fetch like a dog! Motherhood has not matured her, she is still very much a kitten at heart and is incredibly agile and athletic.

Anisa arrived at the shelter pregnant after being found abandoned in an apartment building. She birthed 3 wonderful boys and was fiercely protective of her kittens at first. She definitely wasn't the type of mom to let any stranger hold her newborns. Anisa required a proper introduction of sniffing you out, headbutting your legs, and following you around for a few minutes before she deemed you to be trustworthy enough to handle her babies. If you came in too strong, she would give a gentle nip to remind you that she was the mom in the room. She was an excellent mama and is now ready to start her journey in your family.

If you're looking for a kitten in an adult body, then Anisa is your gal! Loyalty is one of her strongest traits, she's always there to provide comfort and companionship and loves to be held. With her vibrant personality and loving nature, Anisa would make a wonderful addition to any home.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
