THIS DOG IS AWESOME AND NEEDS A HOME NOW! swwet cutter, aka colorado was brought to the north central shelter on Ocotebr 1, 2024 when his owner was taken to jail. he had high anxiety at the shelter and was imediately put on a euthanasia list. But, he is great! We resceud him on November 8. We had a home for him, but the resident dog attacked him. Cutter is very playful and has medium energy. he loves to do zommies in the yard and go on walks. he is good with other dogs. . he can be playful and also respectful of the older dogs. He would do best with dogs his size and energy level, but could also be the only dog. He needs a home NOW! We have no space for him and he deserves to have a loving home. The shelter said he is 11 years old,, but he acts more like he is 5 or 6. ADOPT CUTTER TODAY!

We have the potential adopter come meet the dog and bring their dog for a meet and greet. For cats, they just meet the cat by itself.

we keep our fees low to encourage adoptions of senior dogs. Our kitten fees are based on cost to S/N, vaccinate and chip them.

Go meet their pets

Some of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes throughout LA County. They can be brought to the sanctuary for you to meet. We also have dogs at the sanctuary available for adoption. Our cats and kittens are also in foster or at the sanctuary and can be brought to the sanctuary to meet. Currently we are by appointment only, but we are willing to work with your schedule. We do open houses one saturday a month.

Golden Years Dog Sanctuary, a 501c3 non-profit dog and cat rescue, is located at Goldspirit Farm, nestled at the base of Angeles National Forest in Kagel Canyon, Los Angeles County. The dogs have their own half acre run with dog houses and a dogominium complete with custom built beds, carpeting, heating and air conditioning. They also get to roam on eleven acres of doggy heaven known as Goldspirit Farm.
