If you want a dog who is a good listener, beautiful Quinn is the dog for you! This adorable sheltie is a bit shy when you first meet him and needs a gentle approach; however, once he warms up, he loves to get his pets, and he loves to hear your voice. This sweet, gentle boy goes with the flow. He gets along great with his foster family’s dogs and is relatively quiet. He does bark but not a lot. He can be sensitive to loud noises but quickly adjusts.

Quinn is doing great with training, and is starting to learn commands. Motivated by treats, he already knows the “sit” command and is working on the “down” command. Luckily he is super smart and eager to learn. On walks, Quinn does well on his lead and prefers to walk short distances right next to his person. His outside play time is limited, as his foster family does not have a fenced yard. In the house, he will occasionally pace but quickly quiets down, lying on the floor next to his foster family. He enjoys sleeping in his crate and even goes in it on his own. As far as personality, Quinn is very laid back, easy-going and has a good temperament. He is a really nice dog that will make someone a very happy owner.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to www.almosthomeohio.org for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact adoptions@almosthomeohio.org with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.
