My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grace, affectionately known as ‘Gracie’ to her foster family, has spent the last two weeks settling into her foster home after making the trip from the Carolina’s to PA.

Gracie is stunning with a soft, fluffy coat. She has been busy learning all about living in a home, walking on a leash and human affection. Gracie has made wonderful headway in just two short weeks but will benefit from a patient and understanding adopter. At this time we would prefer Gracie find a home with no children or respectful, older children.

We would like to see Gracie find a home with another dog who would be a good example for Gracie - one who is confident and laid back. She loves other dogs. At this point, we would also like Gracie to find a home with a fenced in yard. Gracie is walking nicely on leash, but needs encouragement at times and consistency with her leash skills. When walking on a leash, she looks to her person for reassurance and protection.

Gracie has been respectful of furniture and prefers to use a dog bed, always choosing to lay with another dog. She is working on perfecting potty training and just began learning commands. Gracie follows routines nicely and is doing well with crate training.

This beautiful girl has a ton of promise and will make a wonderful companion for a family willing to give her time and patience. She has the best smile and always seems so proud of herself when she’s experienced something new alongside of her person. In time, she’s gonna shine

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

You can find our application at www.mostlymuttz.org.

2.
Home Check

All persons living in the household are required to be present.

3.
Approve Application

You will receive an approval email from our organization within several days of having your home visit completed.

4.
Meet the Pet

You will be able to adopt at this meeting if it is a match.

5.
Pay Fee

Adoption fees vary based on dog. We accept cash, PayPal or Venmo. The contract will also be signed at this time.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Congratulations on your new family member!

Additional adoption info

The Initial review of your application will occur within 72 hours.

Please contact your vet authorizing them to release information to us.
Also, let your references know we’ll be calling.
****Failure to take these steps may delay the process

Once your references have been contacted, someone will contact you to schedule a home visit.
After your home visit you will receive an email informing you of your approval.

Schedule a meet/adoption. You will be able to finalize your adoption of the dog at this meeting.

Please read your contract thoroughly before the meeting.

You will be required to send an update at 2 weeks, 6 months, and annually. The email addresses for those updates will be at the bottom of the contract.

If it has been determined that training is a requirement for the dog you’re adopting this will be noted on the contract. You will be required to submit verification of training completion.

Payment by cash is due at the time of adoption. If you choose to use PayPal, payment should be made prior to the meeting/adoption. You will need to forward the electronic email you receive from PayPal, to mostlymuttz@gmail.com to confirm your payment before the meeting/adoption.

Adoption Fees:

Altered puppies (8 weeks - 1 year old): $525

Unaltered puppies (8 weeks - 1 year old): $450 (A $100 sterilization deposit is required in addition to fee. This is refunded upon verification of altering.)

Adults (1yo-7yo): $375

Seniors (7+ years old): $250

Adult dogs who have been with us for over 6 months: $188

At Mostly Muttz Rescue, we often choose to save dogs suffering from curable illnesses within the shelter system rather than rescuing dogs that will be easy to place.
