My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boo-tiful Wednesday!

Hello, I’m Wednesday, a 1-year-old spayed female Maltipoo weighing in at 8lbs of pure love and mystery. I was rescued from Mexico after being found with a deformed leg, matted and thin, but now I'm in a safe, loving home where I get to heal and show my true personality. I may only have three legs but that doesn't stop me from being a playful, cuddly, and spunky little soul. I’m potty trained and crate trained, and I’m working on my leash skills. Who says you can't be cute and resilient?

It may take me a few days to adjust to new faces (I’m a little like my namesake: a bit mysterious and reserved at first), but once I trust you, I’ll love you fiercely and be your shadow. When I’m comfortable, you’ll see the silly side of me! I love my stuffy toys, playing, cuddling, and even napping in the quiet corners of the house. I would do best in a home with another dog-savvy dog to help teach me how to be more confident in new situations. I love having dog companions who understand me, and I’m more than happy to join in on playtime with them. Just like the Addams family, I thrive when I have my pack. I’m a good fit for families with kids ages 12 and up, who can respect my space while I adjust to my new surroundings. I get along with dog-savvy cats too, so if you’ve got a feline family member, I’m all for sharing my space as long as they know the rules.

I’m a super love bug at heart. Despite my initial shyness, I’ll quickly attach myself to my people, becoming their biggest fan. I may whine for a bit if left alone, but I’ll always calm myself down and find a cozy spot to nap. Having my dog buddy around helps a lot! I’m easy-going and will fit into nearly any lifestyle, as long as I’m not left alone too much. I’d rather join in on activities, but if I need some me-time, I’ll nap it off in my own space - no drama here! So, if you’ve got a big heart and the patience to help me grow and thrive, I’ll be your most loyal and loving companion, just like the ever-loyal Wednesday Addams. Ready to add a little tripod mystery and a lot of love to your family? I can’t wait to meet you! You can also see me on my foster’s insta @Fostering_Furever

My adoption fee is $500 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
