My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ HERA’S BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT SHE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: HERA IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE BRAMPTON, ON AREA

We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption.

Hera is an absolutely wonderful dog.  She has superior manners, she is calm and gentle, and always seems to have a wagging tail and a little pep in her step. She takes food/treats very gently, and is very clean.  She has no resource guarding issues with food or toys.  She is able to get along with everyone she meets (adults, children and other dogs).  She knows how to ask for affection in the sweetest way, by bowing her head to you and resting it on your lap.  Hera is the kind of dog who will transition into her forever home very smoothly.   She is a ray of sunshine and is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!

She will require training on her walks as she is a does pull and is “a little all over the place” but she is calm and easy going and always content.  She wants to be around her people, but is very respectful of their space.  She asks for affection politely and gently. She is crate trained, however, it is not necessary as she is not destructive and in the least.

Hera gets very excited when she sees her loves because she loves her walks and she does have some prey drive (to squirrels only) and always has her nose to the ground! She is very content just being around her family and looking out the window all day. Hera is fully house trained and is great with other dogs.

Her ideal home would be one with a fully fenced yard as she loves to investigate all that is around her. No apartments or condos for Hera as she can be vocal. She is great with children and loves them but because of her size children 10+ would be best.

If you feel you would be the right fit for Hera, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/

All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.

NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.

BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!

More about this rescue

At All Paws Matter Dog Rescue along with our sister rescue SOS el Arca, we are determined to save as many broken, abused, abandoned to die and neglected street and shelter dogs in Canada and Mexico as we can. Motivated by a deep love of our 4 legged friends, our mandate is to save and improve as many lives as possible. We have seen many tragedies and have witnessed the most horrible cruelties, but we know working together we can make a significance difference. Raising the awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering our 4 legged friends and through the love and support of our wonderful volunteers, supporters and adopters our hope is to rescue, heal and successfully rehome as many of these deserving souls as possible.
