Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Select your best friend in our office or online. Contact us from our website, via email, or by phone with any questions.

Submit Application

Our Adoption Application is available in our office or online at mercerhumaneky.com/adopt

3.

Interview

Our board will review your application, check your references, and get back to you as soon as possible/

4.

Approve Application

If your application is approved by the board, we'll set up an adoption appointment. This is when you'll sign the adoption contract.

5.

Pay Fee

Our adoption fees are reasonably priced at $65 for cats and $125 for dogs. This includes spay/neuter, preliminary vaccines, and microchip.

We are currently located at 165 Eminence Avenue in Harrodsburg, within Mercer County, KY. This facility is only for cats within our care and can be visited between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dogs within our care are located on private property and are available to view by appointment only.

The Mercer Humane Society, founded over 50 years ago, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving Mercer County, Kentucky.
Our goal is to stop the overpopulation of community cats and dogs in Mercer County. This begins with community education and assistance to have community cats and dogs spayed and neutered.
