My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nelson

Available for Foster to Adopt

Hi there! I'm Nelson, a 10-month-old charmer with a gorgeous tan and white wire coat that's incredibly soft - especially my adorable ear fluff! My journey hasn't always been easy. I started out as a stray, but everything changed when Chicago Animal Care and Control picked me up. That's where the wonderful folks at C.A.R.E. saw something special in me.

Since coming to C.A.R.E., I've really had a chance to show my true colors. I'm a total love bug who absolutely adores giving kisses! When I meet someone new, I can't help but nuzzle right up against them, hoping for some extra pets and attention. I'm working hard on my training and making great progress, which means I'm ready to start the next chapter of my life with my forever family.

I'm playful, friendly, and full of love. Want to meet a dog who will cover you in kisses and cuddle up close? Look no further - I'm your guy! Are you ready to welcome this sweet, affectionate pup into your home?

I have been microchipped and will be neutered and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
