My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffe@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.cutie pie looking for his forever!

ZIGGY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Ziggy     Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd/lab mix

Best Guess for Age:  10 months as of November 2024          SEX:   male

Approximate Weight:  46lbs as of November 2024

Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven’t seen Ziggy with cats or kids, but he can be tested!

Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area

Special adoption considerations:  When Ziggy arrived in the shelter, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Ziggy would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.

Ziggy is Looking For:  His forever home! He landed in the shelter through no fault of his own and is oh so eager to once again have his own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. He's pretty young and is eager to see and experience the world! To explore all the toys! To go to dog school to learn to be the bestest boy! And to make new pup and people pals along the way!

What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once Ziggy arrives in the DC area and has spent some time in his foster home

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
