My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello. Our names are Chief (m) and Addy (f). We have to be the sweetest two babies in the world. Our foster parents think we have Beagle in us. We love picking up scents. When we are in full beagle-sniffing mode, our tails are up in the air, wiggling with joy. It is something to watch us investigate everything. We are not big barkers. We have yet to do the Beagle baying. Throw your head up and bay. We are dog and people social. Chief is very people and treats social, whereas Addy is more reserved. She will warm up to you very quickly.
We have been around children and babies. We do not have any manners (jump up). We are sort of house-trained. There were originally three of us when we were found on a deserted road with no houses or people. The family who rescued us was driving home from the grocery store. Our whole world became a bright, fun place. We are so healthy and happy. We are ready to have our own furever home like our brother. We want to play in the leaves with you, go to the apple orchards, search for wild blueberries, and go to the beach or lake. But most of all, we would love to play in the snow and cuddle beside the fireplace. Please send an email to alittlelonger2home@gmail.com requesting an application. Once the application is submitted, the deposit is submitted to reserve me for you to adopt.

We are very careful with our adoptions for these orphans are in our homes. They are family to us. If it does not feel right, there is probably a reason. The adoption is cancelled.

More about this rescue

My name is Carla Carlton. We (my husband and I) are retired militay. He served in the Air Force for 25 years. We have always done comunity service. So, when we got ready to retire, we found a place we wanted to live and bought a home. Well, the town we lived in has/had a high kill shelter. This broke our hearts.
Around this same time, I met a lady who fostered for Friends of Homeless Animals, RI. One day I got a call from FOHA there was a poodle in our shelter and he was on the short list. I went and pulled him. Roie (FOHA), helped set me up to foster and list our orphans to adopt with families who really wanted them. I am not sure how long ago it was, 16-18 years, I think. The rest is history. Through them and Mountain Pet Rescue, CO (and a few others in CO, UT, IA, IL, OR, CA, MS...), we have placed over 2500 dogs/ puppies and cats.
