My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you'd like to meet Bridget, please read her full profile first - then, visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and schedule an on-site appointment (walk-in hours are also available). www.ggohinc.com

Bridget is one of our long-time residents looking for a quiet, peaceful home. She is a cat's cat more so than a people's cat - by this we mean that she prefers the company of other cats over humans. She is not the kind of cat that is immediately going to trust you and we have to be honest about that. She's okay being in a space with you but she does not thrive on human interaction. She's content to have cat friends - that's just her being her. We know it will take someone special to give Bridget a home, one where it won't matter if she's not a lap cat, not a cat that wants your attention, nor one that wants to cuddle and play. It will be someone special that wants to give a good cat a home, a safe space, with windows to lounge in and beds to sleep on. A person that is okay with just sharing their space with a cat and holding out hope that maybe someday, trust will be earned. We know that person is out there.

Over the years Bridget has learned to trust us where we can hand her a dish of wet food and take it from her when she's done. She allows us in her space. She still doesn't want us to touch her, and we're okay with that because we know she's happy indoors and with her fellow cat companions here at the rescue. But, we also know that every cat deserves a chance and for every cat, there is a person out there for them. So we post her in hopes of finding that person.

If you'd like to know more about Bridget and her needs, feel free to contact us or stop in - we'd love to tell you about her.

As noted in her photo, Bridge has a DOB on 3/17/2019.

More about this rescue

Established in 2003, we are a no-kill rescue/re-home program that takes in abandoned, homeless and unwanted animals. We work tirelessly to find new, permanent homes for our rescues. Our program's Director began this journey when our county's humane society was closed down.

A note from our Director:

"I have been a lifelong rescuer; all of my pets (currently, 10 dogs and 5 cats) are rescue animals. They mean the world to me and I want to help as many animals as I can while I am on this earth. Back in 2003, I gathered together many animal lovers in the area and we started our rescue efforts; we've continued to grow over time and are now operating as a 501c3 organization, which has helped us strengthen our efforts to save the animals. We want to see that no animal goes without love, shelter, food or a happy life. We work on educating the public about the overpopulation problem, we promote spay/neuter programs, and we do group tours at our facility to teach about the rescue re-home world. To get our youth community involved, we visit schools to teach about responsible pet ownership, animal abuse and neglect, and what they as an animal advocate can do to help prevent these tragedies. We are proud of what we do here at our rescue and we believe it is our job to protect those that speak another language and quite honestly, we just could not imagine a world without them. I invite you to join our efforts by becoming a sustainable monthly donor, a volunteer with our program or, simply to be another voice for the animals. Contact us today to find out how you can help."
