My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luna is a small cat with a big personality. She is a very fierce huntress and loves chasing wand toys by jumping high in the air and catching them. She likes being where the action is and hanging out with other friendly cats or humans. She will even follow you around the house if you call her. She expresses herself with small chirps, grunts, mews and gentle head butts. She is a sweet girl and would do well in a home where she gets lots of attention from her humans and other feline companions. She enjoys pets, chin scratches and belly rubs and can be held like a little baby.

Luna came to us with her litter of kittens who have since found homes and now it's Luna's turn! She would likely do okay with a feline friend after a slow and careful introduction. Older kids who are cat savy would be okay with her. Luna is looking for a loving and attentive family to call her own.

Luna is currently awaiting her spay and dental surgery. If you are interested in adding Luna to your household, you can come by the Kamloops shelter during open hours or apply online at the link below.

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
