Dakota is an easy-going, loving and sweet girl. She would make a perfect work from home companion, a perfect best friend, and a perfect little space heater (she loves to snuggle!) Dakota is ready to fall in love with you- knowing Dakota, it will be love at first sight when she meets her forever family.
Dakota is estimated to be around 1 year old and currently weighs in around 48 pounds. We think she’s a pittie mix of some sort, but she is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses!
Fall in love with Dakota here: https://youtu.be/K1F9xWkkhQc?si=pR5rub6e-RSLZEPW
Dakota is currently fostered in a home with other dogs, and her adoring foster family. She loves to go on adventures to PetSmart and walks around her neighborhood. She’s snuggly and sweet with her foster family and absolutely loves to cuddle up on any soft surface- she’s a huge fan of couch time and fluffy dog beds. Her foster mom reports that she is kennel trained and potty trained. She’s pretty easy on leash, and so friendly with everyone that she meets that taking her out and about is a pleasure!
Dakota is loving and sweet, but she knows how to be content by herself. She likes to lay under her foster mom’s desk, and we think she would make an amazing work from home companion!
Dakota loves to play with squeaky toys, carrying them around the house in her mouth. She loves to splash in the pool too! Despite her mellow nature, her playful side does shine through when she’s properly excited for a moment of play.
With other dogs, Dakota is so tolerant and sweet. She is currently fostered in a home with multiple other dogs and does well. She has a preference for mellow dogs like herself. She shares toys and treats well with other dogs, and doesn’t show jealousy when other dogs are loved on. We think she could thrive in a home with other dogs, or love life as a solo-dog, soaking up all of your adoration. Here at the rescue, she was cat-tested, and cat approved! Dakota is cat tolerant and could live with dog savvy kitties.
Dakota is very attentive to her people, and will work for treats, so any future training will be enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. This sweet girl is so, so good already, but she has the potential to become your absolute dream dog!
Dakota is such a sweet little angel, and she’s ready for forever love. We think Dakota would make a great family dog, though we haven’t had the opportunity to see her with children yet. She’s just so patient, gentle and tolerant that we have a feeling she will do well. (We can kid-test upon request!) Dakota is so quiet and well behaved that she could definitely be an apartment dog.
With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Dakota with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
