My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

May is a 50 lb 3 year old spayed German Shepherd mix. She is good with dogs, nervous around cats and high-pitched noises. A home with children 10 and over. No babies. May was an owner surrender because of a new baby in the home and they couldn't give her the attention she deserves and needs. She has good recall, is smart, and a fast learner. May loves to hike. Commands she knows: sit, stay, come, bed, down, shake, dance, up, off, has a settle mat that she will lay down on if you put it out, "okay" is release word, heel , go pee, lets go, go on, loves to chase balls and snowballs. She does not go on furniture unless on her settle mat.

More about this rescue

Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.

PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
