My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a BEAUTIFUL red orange girl and I know it. I’ve got such a cute face which matches my sweet personality. I was pulled from a high kill shelter along with all of my siblings, and thank goodness Smittens Rescue took me in otherwise I could have been euthanized. Don’t let my small size fool you - I’ve got big cat energy! I love running around and wrestling with my siblings and will even take on bigger cats! I get along with cats, people, and so far have been untested with dogs but I’d probably do well with slow introduction. Cover your drinks around me because I like to steal a sip every now and then because I don’t know it’s bad for me but I want to be a part of the crew. I can’t wait to find my forever home where you can treat me for the queen that I am!

Please note, we only adopt young kittens in pairs, unless you already have a young playful cat at home for them to grow up with.

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
