My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there!  Are you looking for a sweet and playful pup to add to your family? Well, look no further, because Poptart might just be the perfect fit for you!

She is a 3 year old, 51 pound female lab who has been working hard at her obedience training program here in Cereal City, and let me tell you, she's been doing fantastic!  She's been mastering her on and off leash skills, and she's eager to show off everything she's learned to her new forever family.

This spayed Labrador retriever is as friendly as can be, and she absolutely adores making new friends. Whether it's with other dogs, kids, or even adults, Poptart is always ready with a wagging tail and a big ol' smile on her face. Her adoption fee is $300.00.

If you have any questions or concerns not answered here, please send an email to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to apply for her?  You can visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org and fill out one of our adoption applications.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue

We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
