My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Pippy and I'm a loving 4 pound baby boy born the beginning of October.  I am the sweetest pup ever!  I love being around people and other dogs.  I'm a very curious little boy,  and I'm a very fast learner.  I love to snuggle in your arms. I was born  missing some bones in my left front leg and foot, but you should see me get around and wrestle with my brother.  I might be small, but I'm very smart and mighty and do just fine on my three good legs.  I would be so so happy if you would adopt me, love me, and play and cuddle with me.  I will stay by your side and be your best companion ever.  My foster mom says, whoever adopts me is going to be very blessed because, I'm a very special boy..

The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. we will discuss any medical care needed for Pippi's leg and will cover immediate care as needed. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your

Go meet their pets

We are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff.
Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application.

We do our best to process applications quickly but please understand that we are a foster based rescue and that our volunteers work jobs; many are full time. Sending in a completed application is the best way to facilitate this process. You can go on our website www.starfishanimalrescue.com and download an application
Once your application is reviewed, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster family to set up a time to meet the pet of your choice!
Thank you for supporting our rescue and what we are trying to accomplish in southeastern Kentucky.
