Buzz is a 6-year-old, 58-pound Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his personality. This clever and affectionate guy has been thriving in his foster home, and he’s ready to find his forever family! Buzz is a house-trained gentleman who doesn’t need a crate. He loves cuddling, curling up in your lap, and being your snuggle buddy. He’s also a pro at commands like sit, stay, paw, free, and come – a very smart boy who’s always eager to please. Toys, car rides, and walks are some of his favorite things, and he’s currently enrolled in obedience classes to refine his skills even more.
Buzz would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can explore safely, as he has a prey drive for squirrels and rabbits. He’s also quite the character, howling along with emergency sirens when he hears them! Buzz has met doggy friends of all sizes and has done great with them, but he can be barky when meeting new people. Once he warms up, he greets everyone with kisses and a wagging tail.
Buzz would thrive in a quieter home with older kids or teens who can respect his space, as he can be a little skittish with sudden movements. He’s a loving and goofy companion who sometimes starts the night sleeping with his foster mom but sneaks off to the couch for some “me-time.” Buzz is working on his reactivity outside, particularly with cars and squirrels, and would benefit from a martingale collar or harness lead to keep him safe during walks.
