My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Strawberry Milk: The Sweet Comfort 🥛🍓
A classic black-and-white beauty with a soft, velvety coat that's perfect for snuggling.
I’m shy at first, but once I feel safe, I’m as affectionate and cuddly as they come. I have a sweet-natured and easygoing demeanor, with a regal touch that makes me the perfect lap cat. I thrive in peaceful environments where I can relax and feel at ease.
I adore the quiet moments, especially when I can curl up on a cozy blanket or in an enclosed space. I love cuddling up with my favorite human and gazing out the window at the world. Your company means everything to me, and I’ll happily keep you warm on a lazy afternoon.
I was found as a sick stray, but thanks to some kind humans, I’m now healthy and ready to find my forever home. I’m looking forward to a life filled with comfort, love, and relaxation. Strawberry Milk is ready to fill your home with sweetness and warmth. Are you the one to give this gentle soul the loving home she deservesAn adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. More about this shelter

At DeKalb Humane Society, we are passionate about finding forever homes for the pets in our care. Whether they are cats, dogs, or other furry friends, our mission is to provide them with a loving and nurturing environment.

We also believe in the importance of education about responsible pet ownership. We strive to educate our community about pet welfare, the benefits of spaying/neutering, and the prevention of animal abuse and neglect.

By adopting a pet from us, you are not only gaining a lifetime companion, but you are also contributing to our cause and helping us raise awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these innocent animals.

The DeKalb Humane Society filed for our Certificate of Incorporation on December 23, 1975 and we were granted 501(c)3 status in March of 1976. We are committed to being a no-kill shelter and serving the DeKalb County area.
