My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fun Dip: The Forever Friend 🎈

Hi there! I'm Fun Dip, a petite bundle of joy with a playful spirit and an affectionate heart. At just 9 months old, I’ve already had quite the adventure. I was born to one of the mom cats here and have been in and out of the shelter since I was just 8 weeks old.

Despite being adopted twice, I found my way back here through no fault of my own. One family had kids who were a bit too rough with me, and the other had to deal with a sad situation overseas. But I'm not letting that get me down! I’m ready to find my true forever home.

I'm super playful and love chasing feather toys and balls. Climbing to the tops of cat trees is one of my favorite activities—I feel like I’m on top of the world! I'm also quite the cuddler and enjoy snuggling up with my humans, especially after a long day of adventures. And oh, how I adore churus—they’re the best treats ever!

My curiosity keeps me exploring new places and meeting new friends. I have a charming and adventurous personality that I can’t wait to share with a loving family. Are you ready to give a sweet and energetic girl like me a forever home? Let’s make wonderful memories together! An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.
Cats and kittens are a donation of choice.

More about this shelter

At DeKalb Humane Society, we are passionate about finding forever homes for the pets in our care. Whether they are cats, dogs, or other furry friends, our mission is to provide them with a loving and nurturing environment.

We also believe in the importance of education about responsible pet ownership. We strive to educate our community about pet welfare, the benefits of spaying/neutering, and the prevention of animal abuse and neglect.

By adopting a pet from us, you are not only gaining a lifetime companion, but you are also contributing to our cause and helping us raise awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these innocent animals.

The DeKalb Humane Society filed for our Certificate of Incorporation on December 23, 1975 and we were granted 501(c)3 status in March of 1976. We are committed to being a no-kill shelter and serving the DeKalb County area.
