My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wazowski, or Waz, is a playful and affectionate cat who adores human interaction and thrives on being close to his people. He's a purring machine, instantly purring when he sees you or his toys. Waz loves being petted and prefers to snuggle as close as possible, often choosing your neck or chest for cuddles. He's the ultimate emotional support cat, always ready to comfort you with his warmth and love.
A confident and social kitty, Waz quickly adapts to new people and environments. He charms everyone with his playful antics and love for attention. He proudly shows off his climbing achievements-his favorite nap spot is the top of the couch's back pillows, a place he considers his greatest triumph.
Waz is endlessly entertaining, with unique moves for every toy. He hilariously "scrubs" the floor with his back and tail while chasing toys or performs adorable bunny-like jumps for wand toys. A mix of cuddly and playful, Waz is sure to win over even the most reluctant hearts with his charm, antics, and unwavering affection.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
