Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet our senior fella, Archie. He was found visiting folks at a nearby Dollar General store. He was unknown to the staff and soon animal control was called. He was very friendly to all he met. He is a happy boy. He is at least 10 years old and he is a short stack weighing about 35-40 lbs. We know nothing about his past, hut he is clearly social and trusting of folks. He is well behaved and eager to have companionship. He seems to be okay with cats, too.
The over population is very real. Please consider adoption to save a life! Fees for cats are $90. This includes spay or neuter, vaccines and worming. We are not set up for credit or debit payments. Cash & checks are accepted.
After hours appts can sometimes be made to view pets with an approved application. Advance notice is recommended.
Applications are required and can be requested by emailing fopcpky@gmail.com or downloading from the website: www.fopcp.org

More about this shelter
The Friends of Powell County’s Pets is a Non-profit organization located in Powell County Kentucky. FOPCP works closely with Powell County’s animal control to increase the visibility of adoptable pets living in the county’s shelter, and to place these pets in rescues or forever homes. Any donation or grant money received goes to directly support the care of homeless cats and dogs in Powell County and to facilitate their transportation to no-kill facilities in the United States and Canada. Care includes emergency and acute veterinarian care, vaccinations, heartworm treatment/prevention, internal and external parasite treatment/prevention, spay/neuter, and treatment of communicable infectious illnesses among cats and dogs. We also strive to educate the community about the importance of spaying and neutering while providing low-cost spay and neuter clinics.
