My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Billy and I just arrived in Minnesota from Alabama with my two other siblings. It was a long journey and a little stressful, but I am adapting and so, so happy to be in a foster home surrounded by love and hugs.

I am a young pup and learning like every new pup does. My foster Mom says I am very smart and will be a great dog! We are sticking to the basics this first week and getting me comfortable.

But here is a list of my current strengths and things to work on:

Strengths:
Well I am really good at sitting and watching. I like to figure things out, and sitting quietly is a good way to do that.
I don't bark too much.
I have a good appetite and love all my food and treats.
I like to be in my crate and x-pen area - but not sure about it when left alone.

Things I am working on getting better at:
Potty training - for sure my biggest goal to accomplish soon.
Being left alone - I get a little worried when people leave me for too long. So my foster Mom is helping me with crate training and how to be a little more independent when left alone. I know it will take time.

Here are some cool things about me:
Everyone is very intrigued and a bit smitten by my two eye-colors. I guess I never really thought much of it, but really like all the compliments. I also have a wonderful short and soft coat, with these amazing black spots on my back.

I am looking forward to being the best dog ever and finding my forever family and home.

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
