My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The King himself!

Hello there! My name is Mufasa, you know, like the mighty lion king himself. I’m 7 years old,12 pounds of DSH pure royal fluff, and I’m here to rule your heart with my majestic purrs. My journey started on the wild streets of Los Angeles, where I was found and rescued by a kind soul who gave me a safe spot on their porch. Sadly, the local cats weren’t exactly Hakuna Matata about my presence, so I’m looking for a peaceful kingdom where I can be the only king of the castle.

I’ve got FIV/FeLV, so I’ll need to reign as the only cat in your home. But don’t worry, I’m a gentle ruler with a mellow, affectionate nature. My personality is more like Simba than Scar; I love cuddles, belly rubs, and just hanging out with my favorite humans. Loud noises do make me a little skittish. But with your patience, I’ll be back to my royal self in no time.

I’ve also had a full dental treatment recently, so I am fully vetted and have fresh breath! I’m on a special prescription diet that keeps me in tip-top lion shape to help with management of urinary crystals. I love lounging around, sleeping, eating, and royally enjoying all the attention I get. I’m the perfect companion for a mellow home, especially if there’s a child (or children) who understand that I’m a cuddly king, but I also need my space to recharge my regal energy.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to share your kingdom with, I’m your guy. I’ll make you feel like you’re truly living in the Pride Lands, just with fewer hyenas and more purrs. So, what do you say? Let’s make your home my kingdom, and I promise to rule it with nothing but love! My adoption fee is $50 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, FIV/FeLV test, dewormer treatments, flea/tick preventative, and microchip. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
