Meet the Princess of Play and Pets!

Greetings, my loyal subjects! I am Cleopatra, Queen of cuddles and mistress of mischief. At 2 years old and 10 pounds, I’ve traded the streets of Ensenada for the throne of indoor luxury—and now, I seek my furever kingdom. My striking calico coat is as dazzling as the Nile, and my personality? Pure royalty.

I’m confident and social, never one to hide like a common cat. Instead, I’ll command the room with my charm, making sure everyone knows I’m in charge (and ready for pets). I love to play, so bring on the feather toys and string—I’m always ready for a game! I also have a lot to say, so if you enjoy a chatty companion, I’m your girl.

Dogs? They don’t faze me one bit—I’ll rule over them with grace. Kids? Sure, I’ll tolerate their antics, as long as they respect my royal decree: no picking me up. I’m not sure about other cats yet but I hope we’d get along. I love being in the mix, so a lively household with other animals or playful humans would suit me pawfectly.

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.
