My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Louie is being fostered in Pekin IL

Meet Louie.  This beautiful boisterous playful baby boi is just 6 months old and was born on May 6th, 2024. He is a standard black tri Australian Shepherd. He is currently 40-45lbs and we believe will be around 55-65lbs full grown.  He and his littermates came into rescue because their breeder couldn't sell them.  They have registration paperwork and could be AKC registered if someone is interested in that.  Louie is sweet, silly, goofy and such a good boy!

Louie is learning at rapid rates.  He is potty training, crate training and is SUCH a good boy!!!  He will need to stay on a consistent routine in his forever home so he can keep up the good work! He also has some commands/skills down pat already!  Louie is being fostered with another Aussie and they just have a great time together. He would do well with another buddy to play with or someone that will provide the mental and physical exercise he needs.

Australian Shepherds are a high energy breed and need DAILY mental and physical exercise; a MINIMUM of 2 hours each day.

Louie is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm for any past or current pets must be provided to adopt from our rescue.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
