My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bert, a lovable 5-month-old terrier mix who's sure to steal your heart! At 25 pounds, Bert is a big ball of joy and energy-though he looks bigger in pictures, he's still very much a puppy. He absolutely adores everyone he meets and is always eager to play. Whether it's with people or other dogs, Bert is all about fun and companionship.

Smart and quick to learn, Bert is already a pro at fetch. His favorite toy is a wiggle ball. At first, he barked at it, but now he's figured out how to pick it up and bring it back to you. He's also mastering potty training, using wee wee pads and learning to go outside. Bert loves hearing he's a "good boy" and is quick to respond with his signature happy tail wiggles.

After a fun play session, Bert is ready to curl up for a nap, but as soon as he sees you, he's up and wiggling with excitement. He's a true puppy-full of energy, love, and joy. Bert is currently being fostered on Staten Island and is looking for a forever home where he can share his sweetness and enthusiasm. If you're looking for a fun-loving, smart, and adorable companion, Bert just might be the perfect match for you!

The adoption fee for this animal is $500. Bert is currently being fostered on Staten Island.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
