My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Where are our Husky lovers at?! How many people want to adopt a Husky for their loyalty, trainability, adventurous nature but worry about the high energy, difficultly containing, or all the songs they like to sing? Well, meet India! This 67 lb, Husky mix is the mot mellow, quiet, calm, loyal, and regal husky you will ever meet. Plus she is a totalbeauty!

lndia is a people's dog through and through. Physical touch is her love language. She dreams of a family with teens, small children or even babies! She has been fostered with all of the above and loved them dearly. Her teen foster sister was her best friend. In her adoption video you can see them lounging in her bedroom jamming out to music. https://youtu.be/lp1djiKl2sk

She would often be the one holding her leash on walks because she is so great at it! Three year old Kobe and all of his shenanigans were no match for her cool, collected temperament. She may or may not have been impressed by his cartwheels lol India was also fostered with a baby and did fantastic. In a home she is house trained, crate trained, lounges on the couch, the bed, her dog bed, but her favorite place was in the room with her teenager. India is very respectful and mindful of human’s food. As curious and tempting as it can be, she does not take food away from children, the garbage, or the table!

Second to people and physical touch, her next love is WATER. She will find water anywhere. At her current foster’s home she found an old water fountain that has a tiny bit of water. India makes sure to perch up on it daily, it's hilarious to see this large dog up on that small fountain. Being the great car rider that she is, she loves beach trips, lake trips, and any trip that involves a water source. We can only imagine how she would feel in the snow! India was meant to go on walks, explore nature, visit lakes, waterfalls, live near the beach, or anywhere where she can do and see all the things that she loves. She says, no thank you Texas heat get me out of here!

Even though India is fostered with dogs, India chooses the company of her dog friends carefully. She loves playing with dogs but she does not do well at sharing dog food. For this reason, it is best that she be a single dog home. India did fantastic during her cat test. She was not super excited, she did not bark, excessively sniff, and disengaged on her own quickly. We can retest if you are an applicant with a cat to see if she still does well! She does not currently live with cats. We feel a dog savvy, cat home would be best for her.

India is a dream! She will be the best addition to a busy family, a single person, an older couple, an active couple, a family that explores, a couple that likes to relax at home, and many other types of different lifestyles. She is so versatile. Is India the dog for you?

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation. Three Little Pitties Rescue is on a mission to make a difference. As a nonprofit dog and cat rescue, we work hand in hand with the community to combat this crisis. Our goal is simple: to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing dogs and cats of all breeds from the streets or overcrowded shelters, where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Your interest and support mean the world to us and to the animals we serve. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission to give every animal a chance at a happy and loving home!

Our rescue is dedicated to making a difference. With close to 15,000 successful adoptions so far, we're committed to saving lives. We provide individualized socialization, training, and support based on the dog’s needs to ensure a smooth transition for both pet and owner. Plus, our adopters enjoy exclusive perks, including pet insurance, training sessions, and discounts on pet products.

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
