Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Age: 10 years Weight: 4.59 kg
Introducing Kotia, a sweet senior lady who cannot wait to live out her golden years in her forever home! This lovely girl came into our care in pretty rough shape, both physically and mentally. She was absolutely terrified in shelter, so after some much needed medical care, Kotia went to her foster home, and is transforming into a completely different cat! While she still hides from loud noises and will sometimes shy away from your hands, Kotia loves hanging out with her people when she warms up. If you`re winding down for the night or quietly sitting on the couch, Kotia would be more than happy to sit next to you and purr her heart away. She is a certified nap enthusiast and is guaranteed to snooze in your bed - with or without you. A funny quirk about Kotia is that she actually *enjoys* belly rubs... Who would`ve thought? You will, of course, have to build up to this, but once she trusts you, she`ll be rolling around on her back for ages. This is everything we know about sweet Kotia so far, but we`re sure that there is so much left to learn. If you`d like to be the one to offer her a calm, quiet and patient home, please email our adoptions team today!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
