Meet Adela, a young dog full of life. She`s playful and cuddly, always ready to make you smile with her energetic antics. Her curiosity is contagious, making every day an adventure. She enjoys tugging, toys, and walks. She can be a bit shy, but once she warms up to you, you`ll have a loyal friend for life. Adela is a bit jumpy and clumsy; her enthusiasm for life can`t be contained. She`s intense and noisy, but that`s part of her charm. Adela weighs 47 pounds and is rough with other dogs and children so she`ll need to live with kids at least 13 years old. She`ll need some training to help her understand her own strength and tone down her play style. This is why her adopters gave her up. She also needs help with leash walking and house training. But with patience and love, she`ll learn quickly. She knows the sit and come commands. Adela is not just a pet, she`s a companion, a friend, a source of endless joy and laughter. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
