My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5659634 Meet Helen,  a 3-year-old pitbull mix with a sleek, velvety black coat and adorable little sock feet – the perfect pocket-sized pittie! Though she’s a little shy and overwhelmed at the shelter, Helen’s sweet and calm personality truly shines once she feels safe. She’s as pretty as she is kind, with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. While Helen is still a bit fearful of the leash and isn’t quite sure how to walk on it yet, with some patience and confidence-building, she’ll blossom into her best self. Helen is the perfect low-maintenance companion, with a soft coat that's easy to care for and a big heart that’s ready to share lots of love and affection. Could you be the one to give this sweet girl the home she deserves?

  • 3 year old black and white pitbull mix

  • 33 pound female - not yet spayed, but the procedure is scheduled; will need to be spayed before adoption, which the shelter can take care of!

  • Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Helen has a tendency to walk in circles, which may be a behavioral quirk or something to do with her balance - she will need to be adopted on a health waiver, adopter to see own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment

  • Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 10/24/24 as a stray

  • soft and sleek pocket sized pittie

  • velvety black coat with a white face and chest, and adorable little sock feet - a super easy coat to care for

  • very calm and mellow little girl

  • so frightened and shut down at the shelter, but when she is more comfortable, her vibrant personality shines through!

  • as pretty as she is sweet - has a big heart and a kind spirit

  •  a bit fearful of the leash and circles while on it, like she doesn't know what it's for - is calm on leash but could use more leash work to build her confidence

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
