Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ranger and Simon: A Dynamic Duo Ready to Steal Your Heart!
Life can be unpredictable, but love is constant—and that's what Ranger and Simon are here to share with you. These two bonded boys are looking for a forever home where they can continue their heartwarming journey together.
Meet Ranger:
Ranger is a stunning 4-5-year-old Great Pyrenees, St. Bernard, and Golden Retriever mix. This gentle giant is the total package:
Friendly and sweet: Ranger’s sweetness will melt your heart (seriously, watch out for cavities!).
Loyal companion: He loves car rides, leisurely walks, and curling up next to you for a movie or game day.
Soleful eyes: Look into his gaze, and you’ll feel like he’s peering right into your soul.
Ready for adventures: Food-motivated and eager to please, he’ll be your best buddy for life.
Ranger does have a slight limp that our vet is checking out, but it doesn’t dampen his spirit one bit—he’s ready to embrace life with open paws.
Meet Simon:
At 9 years old, Simon, a Shetland Sheepdog mix, is Ranger’s little shadow and self-appointed boss. Though small in stature, Simon’s personality is as big as Ranger’s heart. These two are inseparable, with Ranger lovingly watching over his pint-sized partner. Simon might give the marching orders, but it’s Ranger who keeps the bond strong.
While Ranger could thrive on his own, Simon would be lost without his big brother. Together, they’re a beautiful testament to the power of companionship.
What They Need:
Ranger and Simon are neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and full of love to share. They’re looking for a forever family who will cherish their bond and provide them with the comfort and security they deserve after the loss of their beloved owner.
If you’re ready to open your home and your heart to this incredible pair, Ranger and Simon will reward you with loyalty, laughter, and a love that lasts a lifetime.

Applicants have to fill out an application. Go to http://www.spgpc.com/adoptionprocess.htm The application consists of 4 pages and 60 questions relating fenced yards, whether they have had this breed before or large dogs. Three references are required, one from their veterinarian, one from someone they've gotten a dog from before (if applicable) and a personal reference. If the application looks good, then we proceed to the references. If the references are good then we schedule a home study to make sure the dogs will thrive in that environment. Finally we engage the applicants into a contract that spell out their responsibility to the dog and us and our responsibility to them and the dog they are adopting. We then assign a mentor to help them through the transition period and a 1 yr membership to the club. Whether they maintain the membership in force or not we are still a resource to them for the life of the dog. And should life happen, we always take our dogs back.

More about this rescue
We belong to a breed club and take in Great Pyrenees and Great Pyrenees mix dogs. Once a dog is taken into our program, it is restored to health, brought current on all vaccines, micro chipped, had microscopic fecal exams and treated for parasites and worms and had a heart worm test. If positive they are treated before making adoptable and if negative, they are put on a heart worm monthly preventative as well as a preventative for fleas and ticks. All dogs are groomed prior to adoption and are in good health.
