My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Jolee and I am a  3 year old, 60 pound female labrador. My foster Mom in Texas says that I was used by a breeder and then either left in a shelter or they found me on the streets. She says I am a perfect girl and my current foster Mom agrees with her.

I am a laid back, mellow girl, loves and searches for affection, cuddles, and I love when you tell me that you love me!

It is really easy to fall in love with me. I walk great on a leash, love car rides and wear my bandana. I get along with dogs and cats. Great with kids, don't jump on people and easy going. I am shy in the beginning, but once I start knowing everyone around and feel safe, I am the happiest.  I am currently staying in Battle Creek with my foster family. I should live in a home with a fenced-in yard to keep me safe.
I am fully-vetted, microchipped, and my adoption fee is $300.00.

If you have any questions or concerns about me, just shoot an email over to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to apply for me? Visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org and fill out one of our adoption applications.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue

We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
