My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bear! He was born on 9/9/24.

Mom was found by a rescue partner in North Dakota as a stray and pregnant. We took her in, got her set up in our whelping house, started her on a good quality food and supplements to support optimal health during pregnancy.

The puppies were born with us and Puppy Culture was followed.

What’s Puppy Culture?
❤️A program followed by top breeders and rescuers that includes Early Neurological Stimulation (stimulated parts of the brain improve neurological development and better cope with stress)!
❤️ Age appropriate training and socialization starting at 4 weeks
❤️ Conditioned Emotional Responses to new stimuli
❤️Manding (but on ground 🟰 good things happen) to prevent jumping and promote impulse control
❤️ Introduction to 100 people before 8 weeks!
❤️ Introduction to 35 social dogs and observer many more!
❤️ Crate Training

Puppy Culture is a lot of work with 11 puppies, but the world needs more safe, confident, resilient, and happy dogs so putting in the time and effort at the appropriate time is worth it!

Additional adoption info

The dogs in our care will be adopted out with an updated vet exam, they will be up to date on their rabies (if of age), and DHPP. All dogs will also be microchipped and dewormed. If they are of age, they will also be altered. We do not do pediatric spays or neuters so a deposit is required at the time of adoption, once the dog is altered, the deposit will be returned.

Due to the American Veterinary Medical Association's recommendation to not spay/neuter dogs under 6 or 12 months depending on breed and our vets recommendation. Large-breed puppies under 6-months will not be altered prior to adoption but do require a deposit that will be returned once your dog is altered. Small breed and adults that are 6-months or older, will be done prior to adoption.

During the time spent at Forever Fido, all dogs will be socialized with many confident and social dogs of all ages, safely interact with kids of many ages, appropriately meet a variety of humans, start potty and crate training, and begin basic puppy manners including impulse control.

Due to the effort we put into our puppies & dogs prior to adoption, we do require all applicants to enroll in a puppy or basic obedience class with a positive reinforcement trainer. Proof of enrollment will be required before the puppy/dog will be sent home.
