My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Timber,

Neutered Male
Husky x German Shepherd Mix
approx. 4 years, 8 months old

I'm a very charming boy but am slightly shy. I'm in search for my forever home, I live a relaxed lifestyle and if it that's you too it must be meant to be! I may need some guidance to help me come out of my shell, treat me sweet and kind and I will blossom.

My reactions to:

Cats - I've lived in a home with cats though as I can be nervous and unsure of new things I would benefit with a slow calm introduction
Dogs - I can be anxious, nervous and potential territorial around other dogs, for the time being I'd prefer being the only canine in the home
Meeting new people - I adore meeting everyone, give me a good butt scratch or yummy treat, we'll be the best of friends
Children - As I can be overly excited and bouncy, I may benefit from a home with older children or a slow introduction to smaller children
Obedience training - I'm still learning and would benefit some extra time though I've shown great improvement during my time at the shelter
Leash walking - I can display excitement and eagerness on my leash. I would benefit from some extra attention, but like everyone says practice makes perfect!
Crates/My kennel - I am still adjusting to my kennel though I've shown great improvement entering/exiting with ease. Though I'd much rather be out doing my own thing
House trained - I do my best to hold my business until I am able to relieve myself outside
Playtime - I absolutely love being outside! Whether it is basking in the sun or playing a good game of fetch, I'll be there!

Additional adoption info

All pets available for adoption through the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have received a parasite preventative or treatment. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $175 for cats plus tax. If applicable, the purchase of a pet license will be required at the time of adoption.

Before considering pet adoption, potential pet parents are encouraged to do their own research on the type of pet that they are interested in adopting. Different breeds, for example, can have very different exercise needs or may be prone to certain genetic conditions. It is also a good idea to speak with your local veterinarian to gain insight about the type of pet you are considering adopting and the initial and yearly animal care costs involved with pet ownership.

All adoptions require an application and an in person or phone consultation prior to be being approved.

More about this shelter

The Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre is a municipally-owned animal shelter located in the Town of Georgina, Ontario. With a team of dedicated professionals, the shelter provides animal care to vulnerable animals in need.

Services Include:

Temporary housing for stray/vulnerable owned pets
Reuniting lost pets with their owners
Pet rehoming
Pet adoptions
Pet licensing

Pet licenses aid in the fast return of a lost pet to its owner. They provide an immediate visual clue to anyone who finds the pet, which often results in the pet not having to be brought into an animal shelter.

Pet licensing services are provided on behalf of Georgina, East Gwillimbury, Aurora and Newmarket.
