Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From her foster: Mama Odie is just the sweetest girl! Her sweet and silly personality is coming out a little more every day. She is still very afraid of the world (she's had a rough start to life!), but she is learning how to be loved and safe. It is very rewarding to begin to earn her trust!
Mama Odie came in with an estimate of 7 years old, but in subsequent appointments the vet thinks she could be as young as 3-5. We think no matter what that she has many years of joy to bring to her forever family!
She does great in her crate, and is potty trained! She has had a couple of accidents, but it's always by the door and we are learning how to ensure she is getting her potty needs met. She may also have a UTI (we're working on confirmation), so we're thinking this will probably get better. She certainly wants to be a good girl and has no issues making it through the night.
Some of her favorite things are lounging and napping in her kennel or by your feet, getting brushed or scratched, and cheese! She does have the occasional burst of energy where she likes to chew (she's happy with her toys but will seek out a shoe if left to her own devices)! She appears to be dog friendly based on shelter info, and she does great with our small dog!
She would do best in a house (or first floor apartment) where it's easy to get let outside, both because the world is pretty scary still and because she shouldn't be taking stairs during her heartworm treatment. With her fear of loud noises, older respectful children would be best.
We think she could especially benefit from a confident and calm older dog to show her the ropes, but we think she would also do great in a no dog household. We think she would do well with cats too (she hasn't shown any prey drive as of yet and our dog is very small), but she isn't cat tested.
From the Vet:
Hi! I'm Mama Odie and my friends at TBB wanted me to share a bit more about my ongoing medical needs. As mentioned above I am undergoing heartworm treatment and my injections will be performed at TBB Vet Center so I will need to find a family that can get me to these appointments and make sure to follow the appropriate activity restriction during this time.
I will also need 2 surgeries after my treatment is completed. I will need my left eye removed due to a previous injury and a dental. My heartworm treatments and surgeries will be covered in my adoption contract along with 1 round of medications and a recheck associated with each procedure as determined necessary by my vet team. I hope to find a family that sees my amazing potential to be a very good pup and after all this is behind me I will all the better for my forever home! Any veterinary needs outside of what will be covered in my adoption contract will be the responsibility of my adopters.
I need a temp foster 12/20-12/29.

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
