My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Carlie was brought in by a community member.

Why Carlie might be the one for you:
Carlie, with a mellow personality and a calm demeanor can bring a soothing presence to any home - unless she is left alone for long times which she does not like. Carlie's chill nature and low energy make her the perfect companion for stay at home owners. She can handle being crated but not for long periods. She is housebroken and easy to walk. Carlie is not just a pet, she's a friend, a source of comfort and a loyal companion. She prefers being the only dog so that it is just her and her people. Adopting Carlie means welcoming a peaceful and loving presence into your life. Carlie is available for adoption in a foster home. To adopt her, please call us at 619 299 7012 or email us at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number. We will contact you and arrange for you and Carlie to meet and maybe go home together.

At SDHS:
Carlie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
