My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you were to google what it meant to be “Man’s best friend” you would read about a dog’s ability to be a person’s most faithful and supportive companion, their loyalty, their unconditional love, and lastly the devotion man’s best friend has to offer. Every once in a while, you might be lucky enough to meet a dog that is the literal definition of a man’s best friend. Let’s roll out the red carpet for a very special boy named Sunny Sparky. He truly is one of a kind and he holds a very special place in everyone’s heart. He is your soul dog, your ride or die, partner in crime, and your dog that you brag about to everyone. If you don’t mind people always associating you with your dog, asking about him at family gatherings and wanting Sunny to be included, then you need to adopt him because that is exactly what is going to happen! He has a special way of making you and everyone he is around feel like the most important person in the world.

See what your life could be like with Sunny Sparky in it:

This guy can work a room, greeting guests with a warm welcome and enthusiasm is his specialty! When y'all aren’t hosting your neighbors and family and friends, Sunny is ready to be your adventure buddy. With his A+ car rider skills and well-mannered leash skills, whether it's errands or a weekend getaway, this boy is ready! All those trails and look-out points you have saved for someday…well with Sunny, today will be the day! And if you are planning on training for a 5K in the new year, Sunny is up for that too. We didn’t know that until he was the special guest at a Run Club in the city where he showed how beautifully he keeps pace for a jog and can stay focused even when running by ducks and every type of wheeled thing possible. To give you a better idea about the run club and what is like, there are hundreds of people that join the run club. Which show how impressive he is with crowds. Sunny is so versatile with everything, you name it and he’ll be happy to do it alongside his humans. Even if that means having a lazy sunday watching football, snuggling on the couch, and relaxing around the house. Sunny will be right there with you. There is honestly nothing this sweet boy wouldn’t want to do. He’s a people's dog, through and through. Big and small! If you haven’t watched his video showing how gentle and attentive he is even with kids then you need to go watch his video. His love and gentleness with people would make him a great family dog if you have kids or if you have family that has kids.

Sunny is dog friendly and enjoys other playful dogs and his enthusiasm for play is seriously entertaining to sit on the sideline for. He’ll make friends with other dogs and if he’s found the right playmate, let the wrestle match begin! He loves to wrestle with the right dog. If there was potential for a perfectly-paired-playmate for him it would be a fun-loving, light-hearted female dog. Those are his favorite buddies! He does the cutest little bunny hops when he has found perfect playmate where he hops alongside his buddy like a little kid bouncing for joy because they’ve made a new friend. But honestly, if it were all up to Sunny, he would be your-one-and-only! He has more than two dogs worth of love to give that’s for sure and he doesn’t need the company of another dog to keep him entertained or to feel comfortable with new people or environments. He’s a confident, happy go lucky lover that will be just fine being the center of attention.

Sunny is a Lab mix approximately 2 years old and 65 lbs. He’s a big guy, but very gentle. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee the breed or age. We can guarantee that you’ll be gaining a lifelong best friend by adopting Sunny. His ideal home would have a big backyard or even a big open space like on a ranch where he can explore, keep you company while you’re out doing ranch things and when you need a little break from working on the property he’ll happily engage in a nice game of fetch. He’ll also accept belly rubs and booty scratches too. He loves those and he enjoys sunbathing as well. Sunny is very smart, loves to please and will do anything for a treat! He knows basic commands and how to shake, is crate trained, potty trained, walks easily on a leash, an angel in the car, and is as quiet as a mouse in his kennel. We can test Sunny with anything you need in order to ensure he's the perfect match for you! Just let us know.

He is fostered in Texas and ready for a virtual meet-and-greet. We are ready to answer any questions you have. An angel sponsor has graciously covered part of the adoption fee to help make it more affordable for loving families. The total adoption fee is featured with the sponsor already deducted.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
