Hello! I'm Mia and I was found beaten up from the elements and just life in general. I survived in the hills of Barranquitas for so long when I was finally rescued and taken in to a place where I can enjoy the quiet and relaxing life of an old lady. My eyes are not the best but I still know that I am in a great place that will take care of me. If you would like to stop in and see me feel free! I am waiting for my forever family and home for the first time in my life.

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
